A person was fatally struck by a semitruck early Wednesday on the Tri-State Tollway in suburban Hinsdale. State troopers responded to Interstate 294 near the Hinsdale Oasis ramp about 4:20 a.m. where a person outside a disabled passenger vehicle was hit by a semitruck, Illinois state police said. The person, whose age and gender weren't immediately known, was dead at the scene, state police said. One lane and the ramp to the Hinsdale Oasis was temporarily closed while the crash was investigated, state police said. No further information was immediately available.
