72-Year-Old Man Dies after Colliding with Tractor Trailer near Farm-to-Market Road 2053 LYNN COUNTY, TX (October 2, 2024) – Leonel Salazar was killed Friday morning, and Javier Lucio was involved in a semi-truck collision on US Highway 87. Police officers received dispatch calls around 9:15 a.m., near Farm-to-Market Road 2053 on August 23rd. Investigators stated that Salazar, behind the wheel of a 1997 Buick Century, was stopped facing westbound on FM 2053. Meanwhile, Lucio was driving a 2015 Mack truck tractor northeast on the freeway, approaching FM 2053. As Salazar entered the intersection, Lucio swerved in an attempt to avoid the collision, but the two vehicles collided. Despite life-saving efforts, 72-year-old Salazar, a resident of O’Donnell, Texas, was pronounced dead at the scene. Lucio, 63, was unharmed in the crash.
