HONOLULU (KHON2) -- The 31-day countdown to Halloween starts now and it's never too early to plan how the ohana is going to spend the spookiest day of the year. With Halloween around the corner, Honolulu horror fans talk about why they love horror Hot October Spooktacular Night Market and Car & Bike Show The entire ohana is invited to kick off the beginning of Spooky Season with a night market at the Aloha Stadium's Upper Halawa Parking Lot on Oct. 5 from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. Attendees can shop until they drop and browse through more than 100 classic cars and motorcycles. The event will also feature a costume contest and live entertainment by Rizon and Hui o ka Uluwehi Keiki can enjoy a bounce house, face painting, balloon twisting and more. Tickets are $10 for those 18 and over, $5 for those ages 12 to 17 and free for keiki 11 and under. Makana Kids Halloween Costume Contest From newborns to 12-year-olds, keiki are invited to participate in Ka Makana Alii's Halloween Costume Contest on Oct. 19. There are three categories: newborn to four year olds, five year olds to eight year olds and nine year olds to 12 year olds. Contest registration will commence from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. and the actual costume contest will start at 5 p.m. and end at 7:30 p.m. Ala-Ween Spooktacular at Ala Moana Center More than 100 stores and restaurants will participate in Ala Moana Center's Ala-Ween Spooktacular on Oct. 31 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. The event is meant for everyone of all ages to enjoy trick-or-treating, custom balloon creations from Adventure Balloons, photo opportunities and more. Ala Moana will also feature the following Halloween-themed experiences: Nightmare Bar: Serves up Halloween-inspired cocktails from Oct. 4 to Oct. 31 from 5 p.m. to 12 a.m. nightly Spirit Halloween: Shop for your Halloween costume, accessories and other spooky decorations Children's Play Area: Keiki can climb and play on giant spiders from now until Oct. 31 from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Halloween Candy Crawl A popular trick-or-treat event makes its way back to Pearlridge Center on Oct. 31 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. The entire ohana is invited to wander stores to receive free treats and participate in a keiki costumer contest. Check out more news from around Hawaii 2024 Mall-Wide Halloween Trick-or-Treating Kahala residents should check out this mall-wide trick-or-treat experience at Kahala Mall on Oct. 31 from 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Trick-or-treaters can expect fang-tastic costumes, a live DJ, festive Halloween mergence decorations and tons of sweet treats. On top of candy, keiki will receive Diamond Bakery Animal Crackers, Chocolate Animal Crackers and Cookies: Butterscotch Delights, Candy Bead, Cornflake, Dark Chocolate Chip, Kakimochi and Mini Chocolate Chip cookies.
