DC police searching for suspect in 3 armed moped thefts

WASHINGTON (DC News Now) -- Police in D.C. are looking for a person accused of several armed carjackings in the District.
The Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) said that the suspect went up to victims on three different occasions, took out a handgun and demanded the victim's moped.
In each instance, the victim complied and handed over the moped. The suspect would then escape on the moped.

The first incident took place on Sept. 2 around 9:40 p.m. in the unit block of K St. NE. The second incident took place on Sept. 13 around 9:40 p.m. in the unit block of Pierce St. NE. The final incident took place on Sept. 17 around 9:05 p.m. in the 1100 block of 1st St. NW.
The mopeds in the first and third thefts had been recovered, MPD said.
