MEMPHIS, Tenn. --The Tennessee Highway Patrol says a driver who had a revoked driver's license due to a DUI dozed off at an intersection along North Germantown Tuesday morning with his foot on the brake and a gun on his lap. The THP said James Lee Baker, 28, also had drugs in his car and is facing several charges, including possession of marijuana and being a convicted felon in possession of a weapon. Baker is a rapper who goes by the stage name 'BlocBoy JB' and has over 2 million followers on Instagram. James Baker. (SCSO) A trooper said he approached Baker's Mazda SUV at North Germantown Parkway and Chickering Lane after seeing it sit through two full traffic signal cycles. Germantown commission looking to crack down on house parties The Trooper said Baker was asleep at the wheel with his vehicle in drive, and he had a loaded Glock and a bag of marijuana on his lap. According to the affidavit of complaint, Baker had his license revoked in 2019 for DUI of drugs or alcohol and, in 2020, was convicted of manufacturing and selling a controlled substance. He was sentenced to one day in jail. According to the affidavit of complaint, Baker's last known address is in Las Vegas, Nevada. Baker is also facing charges of driving with a revoked license and obstruction of a highway. He is scheduled to appear in court on Wednesday.
