HOWARD, Wis. (WFRV) - A significant fire has erupted at the Northern Pines Apartments in Howard, with flames and smoke visible from the scene. Several fire departments put out the blaze, and tenants have been safely evacuated. No injuries were reported by fire officials. Officials say that a dozen units were damaged by the fire, causing an estimated $750,00 in damage. Officials say that about 10 residents were inside the apartment building at the time of the fire and safely evacuated themselves, and that no one had to be rescued. The American Red Cross arrived on scene within two hours to assist displaced residents.
