HOWARD, Wis. (WFRV) - A significant fire has erupted at the Northern Pines Apartments in Howard, with flames and smoke visible from the scene. Several fire departments put out the blaze, and tenants have been safely evacuated. No injuries were reported by fire officials. Officials say that a dozen units were damaged by the fire, causing an estimated $750,00 in damage. Man in northern Wisconsin dead after being ejected during motorcycle crash The fire began on the second floor of the apartment building, but the cause is unknown and is under investigation, which officials say could take around six weeks to be complete. Officials say that about 10 residents were inside the apartment building at the time of the fire and safely evacuated themselves, and that no one had to be rescued. The American Red Cross arrived on scene within two hours to assist displaced residents.
