BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) -- One man was taken into custody and another man was transported to ECMC via Mercy Flight following a stabbing Tuesday at Applebee's in the Town of Niagara, police announced. Officials said just after 3 p.m., police responded to the Applebee's on Military Road for a reported stabbing that occurred in the kitchen involving two male employees. Upon arrival, officers placed themselves between the suspect and the victim and saw that the suspect still had the knife, authorities said. Police said the suspect was told multiple times to drop the knife and he refused. Two officers then deployed tasers which caused the suspect to drop the knife. He was then taken into custody without further incident. The victim suffered several stab wounds to his upper torso, but he is expected to be OK, police said. The suspect was also transported to ECMC for self-inflicted wounds to his hands. The Niagara County Sheriff's Office will be handling the investigation.
