BISMARCK, ND (KXNET) — The Heartview Foundation's Halloween 5k is back this year, looking to spook runners of all ages. The foundation is inviting families to its 5k walk/run and trick-or-treating opportunity on Saturday, October 12th. The event, called the Monster Mile 5k, will start at 10:30 a.m., while the trick or treating, face painting, Spooky Sprint, and other events will start at 11:30. The top three male and female runners will each receive prizes. 5th annual Faith and Blue event bringing cops closer to community Map courtesy of the Heartview Foundation. You can of course wear your favorite Halloween costume. Prizes will be awarded to the most creative, best group, best overall, best dog costume, and best kids’ costume. All the events will take place at the Sertoma Community Center next to the Superslide Amusement Park. The 5k will loop around the Dakota Zoo along the river, as shown in the map on the right. Registration costs $35, and comes with swag and a medal. Pre-registration is encouraged by October 7th to ensure you get the swag, otherwise it's not guaranteed.
