A 47-year-old motorcycle rider was killed after he was struck by two cars that then drove away on a Lemon Grove highway Monday morning, according to a California Highway Patrol official. The first collision was reported around 12:25 a.m. on eastbound state Route 94 near College Avenue, Officer Jared Grieshaber said in a news release. John Nealis of El Cajon was riding a Triumph motorcycle when a dark-colored sedan — driving at a high rate of speed — hit the motorcycle from behind, according to Grieshaber and the medical examiner’s office. Nealis was ejected into lanes of traffic. Grieshaber said the rider was then struck by a gray, four-door sedan. Both drivers fled the scene before officers arrived, officials said. Nealis died at the scene.
