Person rescued after falling into pit in Rochester

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — One person was hospitalized after falling into a pit in Rochester Tuesday morning.
According to the Rochester Fire Department, the person fell about 15 feet into the pit off Maplewood Drive around 8:19 a.m. Tuesday. Fire crews carried out a 40-minute rope rescue operation to get the person out.
The RFD said an ambulance crew was on scene during the rescue and transported the person once they were pulled out, but they did not share any information about the person's potential injuries or condition.
