FRESNO COUNTY, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) - Spooky season is officially here, and that means the characters at Hobb's Grove are ready to welcome you back! Since 1999 Hobb's Grove has welcomed thousands of people to their multi-themed attraction. And starting this Friday, visitors can once again explore the 27 acres which includes a forest, hayride, and a house that changes theme each year. Inside the haunted house, you can expect a haunting like no other, with creepy family portraits on the wall, and a secret entrance you will have to check out for yourself. "Before it was an insane asylum. it was fairytales gone wrong our last year. it was a steampunk lab. this year it's now like a classic haunted house. classic, haunted, abandoned house where lost souls and spirits roam the hallways and in the rooms," said Billy Bob Hobb. The forest will also take you down a different path this year and the hayride will feature more interactive elements with the characters. Scare auditions held for Hobb’s Grove’s 26th Season Also returning for the second year in a row is the speakeasy. "And the speakeasy is a hidden speakeasy. It's a drinking establishment, a bar, and the only way you can get there is if you find out what the secret question is. And you're going to know what that secret question is by going to our website,” said Billy Bob Hobb.  While some characters aim to scare, others like Billy Bob provide entertainment while you wait in line.   “I like to have that one-on-one interaction with them, that little special moment, I make it special for them and I try to make them laugh if I can, you know?” said Billy Bob Hobb. It takes months of preparation to create the Hobb's Grove experience and it is a team effort with several people working behind the scenes, for them it is the tradition and memories that makes all the hard work worth it each year. “We've been doing this so long that I've come across customers as adults that came here as kids, and now they're bringing their kids," said Billy Bob.  Hobb's Grove will be open from Friday, October 4th through November 2nd.
