MERCED COUNTY, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) - Officers with the California Highway Patrol are reminding the public to stay vigilant following a crash in Merced County. On Monday, officers say they responded to a collision at Highway 99 southbound off-ramp at Atwater Boulevard in Atwater. CHP says a vehicle failed to yield to oncoming traffic while at a stop sign, resulting in a crash. A picture shared by the California Highway Patrol Merced area shows the two vehicles involved, a white sedan and a green SUV. "This incident highlights the importance of staying vigilant at intersections. Remember the basics: always look left, right, and left again before proceeding. A few extra seconds of caution can prevent crashes and save lives," CHP said in a social media post. According to officers, nobody reported serious injuries as a result of this crash.
