FRESNO, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) – Jobita Camacho, a candidate for Selma City Council has been arraigned in a Fresno County Court Room on charges of allegedly filing a false declaration of candidacy and perjury.
During Camacho’s court appearance, she plead "not guilty".

According to the District’s Attorney, it is alleged that on July 25, Camacho submitted paperwork to run for the District 4 Council Seat on the Selma City Council, when she lives in District 2. She did so under penalty of perjury.
If convicted, the DA’s office says Camacho faces a maximum of four years in state prison.
