(KRON) -- A mother and her son were arrested on Monday in connection to a homicide that occurred the day prior, according to the Daly City Police Department. At about 7:10 p.m. on Sunday, police started receiving reports of a shooting that occurred in the 1300 block of South Mayfair Avenue. Responding officers arrived to find a man, 60, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. "Officers administered aid, but unfortunately, (the victim) was pronounced deceased at the scene," DCPD said. Detectives, however, were able to identify this suspect as 21-year-old Maarij Abdullah Afridi of Daly City. The following day of the shooting, police detectives and SWAT Team personnel arrested the 21-year-old at his residence without incident. During his arrest, DCPD said Zaib Un Nisa Afridi, Maarij's mother, was identified as an accomplice to the homicide. Both the mother, 50, of Daly City, and her son were taken to the San Mateo County Jail, where they were booked on numerous charges, including first-degree murder, according to DCPD.
