MIDDLETOWN, R.I. (WPRI) — The Potter League for Animals is stepping up to help a South Carolina shelter that lost power during Hurricane Helene. Due to the lack of power, the shelter is unable to wash the animals' bedding or toys. Donations getting sent back with the transport van can be dropped off at 87 Oliphant Lane in Middletown no later than Thursday. The Potter League said the shelter is in urgent need of beds, toys and food for dogs of all ages. “The devastation from Hurricane Helene has hit the Aiken County Animal Shelter especially hard, and we’re doing everything we can to support them during this challenging time," said Potter League CEO Brad Shear.
