CHOCTAW, Okla. (KFOR) — A Choctaw neighborhood was rocked by a deadly explosion late Monday afternoon. Bo Woody was working on a car when all of a sudden a nitrous bottle and blowtorch exploded, killing Bo. Bo Woody. Image courtesy Jennifer S. Woody. The tragedy has not only left the Woody family in shock, but also the local car community. "If you had asked anybody in the car community, they would know his name," said Darrin Brewer. Brewer has been friends with Bo Woody for over two decades, he often had Bo tune cars for him. "He had hundreds and thousands of people and reaches from different states from all over the world. He tuned cars from the laptop, from mobile, from phone calls. I mean, he tuned cars for me, for customers out of the state," said Brewer. He describes Bo as a master at increasing a vehicles performance and says he's one of the best tuners in Oklahoma. Another friend of Bo explained how he taught his daughter on how to tune her racing truck. Image courtesy, Bryan Tilson. "His passion for automobiles and helping the younger generation will never be forgotten," said Bryan Tilson. Now car enthusiasts are coming together to keep his legacy alive through what he knew best, cars. A memorial car show and burnout is being planned. "We have a good location in Harrah and Choctaw, which is very close to his house. I've actually talked to his son, he's going to bring all the vehicles he owned, four to five vehicles, and we're actually going to do a burn out in his vehicles, kind of a last send off," said Brewer. The fundraiser will benefit the Woody family as Bo leaves behind his wife and six children. News 4 reached out to the family who understandably are not ready to talk on camera, but shared treasured photos and tell us "he loved his family, friends and the racing/car community," said Jennifer Woody, Bo's wife. The details of the car show are still being worked out, but Brewer expects it to be held in the next week or two. In the meantime, there is an account set up at BancFirst if you'd like to donate to the Woody Family.
