NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — We will continue to watch the Caribbean and the Gulf through the first week of October. The NHC is once again highlighting these areas with a 40% chance of tropical development over the next 7 days. Right now it looks like just a broad circulation may develop by the end of the week or the weekend. We could see something form from that after that point, but with a cold front moving in early next week it would likely stay to our south and east. Either way no concern at the moment. Some tropical moisture from that area though will move into the area on Thursday. Ahead of it we have another warm and dry day Wednesday with upper 80s to around 90. Morning lows will drop into the 60s again north of the lakes Wednesday and Thursday morning before warming up into the weekend as humidity moves in. Look for scattered showers to move into the area starting on Thursday. This will continue into Friday with rain chances each day around 50-60%. We got back down to the 30% range for the weekend. Daytime highs will be lower with mid 80s Thursday and only low 80s Friday.
