APPLETON, Wis. (WFRV) - A group of Packers players went to Appleton on Tuesday to give elementary students some memories that will last a lifetime, along with some lessons to remember. Safety Zayne Anderson, linebacker Chris Russell and center Lecitus Smith were at Appleton's Franklin Elementary School at 11 a.m. to emphasize the importance of being accountable and overcoming adversity to the students. The players each shared some personal stories about their lives and how they got to where they are. Green Bay woman beats breast cancer against all odds, hopes to support others amid Breast Cancer Awareness Month "I'll be honest with all of you," Smith said. "I got signed up for football and on my first day out there wearing pads, I got hit, fell on my back and cried." Smith said that the next day, he went out and he loved playing. In addition, students got to spend lunch with the players and a recess session.
