(COLORADO SPRINGS) — After the grand opening of Colorado Springs' first outdoor amphitheater, the excitement of getting to see their favorite band or comedian unfortunately led to some fans being scammed into buying tickets that were too good to be true. FOX21 News found several instances of fans posting in local community groups on social media complaining that they had been scammed by fake tickets to Ford Amphitheater, and were left standing outside the venue on event night scrambling to find last-minute tickets. The problem arises when a scammer posts that they have tickets they're trying to sell, and only after the purchase of the "tickets" does the buyer realize they aren't legitimate. FOX21 News reached out to Venu, owners of Ford Amphitheater, to ask how fans can be sure they're getting legitimate tickets, and how to protect themselves from scammers. Chloe Hoeft, a spokesperson for Venu, said AXS is the official ticketing platform of Ford Amphitheater, and AXS Official Resale is the safe and easy way to buy or sell tickets with other fans. "It's the only platform that guarantees ticket authenticity," said Hoeft. Through AXS Official Resale, Hoeft said buyers receive verified tickets straight through their AXS account, while sellers take advantage of fast and secure direct payments. Sellers do pay a resale fee, which is capped at 10% of the sale price. If you are looking for tickets to Ford Amphitheater, or have tickets to an event you can no longer attend, Hoeft recommended using AXS Official Resale to ensure a secure transaction for both buyers and sellers.
