CHARLESTON COUNTY, S.C. (WCBD) --- A 62-year-old’s death in May was ruled a homicide by the Charleston County Coroner’s Office Tuesday. Alexander Nelson, of Awendaw, died from blunt force injuries on May 4 at the Medical University of South Carolina. Charleston County Coroner Bobbi Jo O’Neal said Mr. Nelson sustained the injuries on May 2 off Highway 17 in Awendaw. After the autopsy report was finalized, the coroner’s office determined Nelson’s death to be a homicide. The Charleston County Sheriff’s Office is the lead investigative agency.
