BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) — The Baton Rouge Police Department issued an arrest warrant for the person of interest in connection to the death of William Nicholas Abraham, 69. His body was found on Sunday in a tarp along the highway. Terryon Ishmael Thomas, 20, of Newellton, is wanted on charges of aggravated criminal damage to property, resisting an officer and unauthorized use of a motor vehicle. The accusations are not tied to Abraham's death. Baton Rouge police officers conducted a traffic stop around 12:20 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 30, in the 4300 block of North Sherwood Forest Boulevard. During the traffic stop, the driver of a black Lincoln MKZ, which was identified as Abraham's stolen vehicle, did not comply with the officer's commands. The officer later identified Thomas from a photo lineup. The Tanigpahoa Sheriff's Office also released surveillance video stills of the last person believed to have been driving Abraham's car, noting BRPD found the vehicle on Monday. BRPD obtained a warrant for Thomas on Tuesday. Tangipahoa Parish detectives think the person seen in these store surveillance pictures is the last person to have been driving the vehicle of William Nicholas Abraham. When detectives interviewed the officer, he said that he received notifications from a license plate reader that a stolen vehicle was in the area of North Sherwood Forest Boulevard, according to the arrest warrant.
