Man pleads not guilty to murder in deadly crash on East Truxtun Avenue

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. (KGET) -- A man accused of driving drunk when his Dodge Durango crashed into a parked car, killing one of its occupants, appeared in court Tuesday to face charges including second-degree murder.
Martin Alameda Sanchez, 25, had not guilty pleas entered on his behalf. He was ordered held without bail and is due back in court Oct. 10.
Police were called to a crash at 11:14 p.m. on Saturday in the 1200 block of East Truxtun Avenue. A Dodge Durango traveling west had slammed into a car parked on the north curb, police said.
The driver of the car was killed and a passenger taken to a hospital in critical condition, police said.
