TEMPLE, Texas (FOX 44) - Multiple injuries have been reported in a plant explosion, according to Temple Fire & Rescue. The department, accompanied by Temple EMS, responded to the Delta Centrifugal casting manufaccturing plant at 3402 Center Street on Tuesday. Spokesperson Santos Soto tells FOX 44 News the fire originated in the back of the facility. The cause of the fire is unknown. The explosion involved 10,000 pounds of molten metal at 2,900 degrees. Five injuries have been reported. Soto says none of these injuries are believed to be life-threatening, but the victims did suffer severe burns. Crews are still on scene. The Center Street area is shut down, and travelers are urged to seek alternate routes. This is a developing story. FOX 44 News will have more information as it becomes available.
