28-Year-Old Driver Pronounced Dead after Wrong-Way Accident near Mile Post 303
WALLA WALLA COUNTY, WA (October 1, 2024) – Salvador Beltran was killed Saturday morning, in a wrong-way crash on westbound State Route 12.
The incident occurred at approximately 3:10 a.m., near milepost 303 on September 21st.
According to reports, a 40-year-old man driving eastbound veered into oncoming traffic. This caused a head-on collision with a westbound vehicle driven by 28-year-old Beltran.
Despite life-saving efforts, paramedics pronounced Beltran dead at the scene. In addition, the wrong-way driver sustained injuries and was transported to Kadlec Medical Center.
Authorities suspect the driver was impaired at the time of the crash. Charges are still pending, and no further information has been released.
