Motorcyclists killed in separate crashes identified as Carlsbad, El Cajon residents

Authorities publicly identified two local men who died recently in motorcycle crashes.
The first of the two deadly crashes occurred shortly before 2 p.m. Saturday, when a motorcycle ridden by 30-year-old Karl Trayvilla of Carlsbad struck another southbound motorcycle on South Coast Highway in Oceanside, according to the medical examiner’s office.
Trayvilla fell onto the roadway near West Street and was hit by an oncoming vehicle, the agency reported. Paramedics took him to Tri-City Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.
The second fatality took place just before 12:30 a.m. Monday, when a car rear-ended a motorcycle at high speed on eastbound state Route 94 near College Avenue in Lemon Grove, officials said.
The rider, 47-year-old John Nealis of El Cajon, was ejected onto the freeway and died at the scene, according to the medical examiner.
