BRUNSWICK COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- The Brunswick County Sheriff's Office has issued warrants in connection to a double murder for a suspect who officials said should considered to be armed and dangerous. On Tuesday, Oct. 1, which was 48 hours after receiving the initial report call to Blue Bird Road, arrest warrants were obtained for 37-year-old Joseph Lee Powell. (Courtesy of: Brunswick County Sheriff's Office) Authorities said the identities of the victims are still being confirmed and the information will not be made public until next of kin are notified. Powell was already wanted in Brunswick County for violating probation and is now wanted for two counts of murder, two counts of using a firearm during the commission of a felony and possession of a firearm by a violent convicted felon. According to the sheriff's office, Powell has connections to Brunswick County, Richmond, and Chesapeake. Authorities said Powell should be considered as armed and dangerous.
