PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WLNE) — Brown University President Christina H. Paxson received the university’s resource management report following a student encampment protest and student-led proposal calling for Brown to divest from 10 companies they describe as “facilitating the Israeli occupation of Palestinian Territory.” Brown’s Advisory Committee on University Resources Management (ACURM) submitted the report on Monday, according to a university statement. The university’s highest governing body, the Corporation of Brown University, will vote on the matter of divestment later in October. The ACURM report will be shared publicly at the time of the Corporation vote. “After my initial review of the report, I am writing to inform the Brown community that ACURM has completed its work in line with its charge, and I am proceeding with the next step of formally submitting ACURM’s report to Brown’s highest governing body, the Corporation of Brown University, for a vote that will take place later this month,” said President Paxson.   Categories: News, Providence, Rhode Island
