Tangipahoa Parish deputies seek person of interest after body found near highway

TANGIPAHOA PARISH, La. (WGNO) — The Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff's Office is looking for a person of interest after a body was found in a tarp along a highway.
The body of Baton Rouge resident 69-year-old William Nicholas Abraham was found on Sunday, Sept. 29 inside a tarp along Highway 51 near Fluker.

Around 8 a.m., deputies reported responding to the call of a “suspicious, rolled up tarp.”

Detectives have released a photo of the person they claim to have been driving Abraham's vehicle.
The vehicle was found on Monday, Sept. 30 in the Baton Rouge area. An investigation revealed the driver at that time reportedly sped away from a traffic stop and ran away after crashing the vehicle.

The Tangipahoa Parish Coroner's office listed Abraham's cause of death as homicide by blunt force trauma.
Deputies have not specified of the pictured subject is wanted on criminal charges.
Sheriff Gerald Sticker is asking anyone with information on the crime to call the Criminal Investigations Office at 985-902-2008.
