(COLORADO) — On Wednesday, Oct. 2 34 butchers from across the region will compete in Denver for the chance to compete in a national competition. According to Texas Roadhouse, the competition was created in 2001 to recognize the daily efforts of Texas Roadhouse meat cutters who hand-cut each steak at the restaurants. The competition on Wednesday will take place at the South Suburban Sports Complex, Ice Rink #3 in Highlands Ranch. The competitions are held at 38 degrees to ensure the meat stays fresh. Each competitor will be given 20-30 pounds of beef, consisting of one sirloin, one filet, and one ribeye to cut. Cutters will be judged on quality and yield in the timed competition. The top scorers in the region will move on to the semi-finals in January where they will compete for a chance to participate in the 2025 national competition held in March. The winner of the national competition will get $25,000 and be crowned Meat Cutter of the Year. “Our national meat-cutting challenge celebrates the extraordinary skill and precision of our local meat-cutters –it’s a tribute to a unique profession that blends artistry with expertise,” says Nick Carroll, Sr. Texas Roadhouse Sr. Product Coach. “We’re proud to recognize our meat cutters’ dedication to ensuring every steak is cut to perfection."  The 34 competitors in this region's competition are: Malcolm Daniels                          Farmington, NM Carlos Quinones                          Pueblo, CO Daniel Gonzalez                          Colorado Springs, CO Ricardo Gonzalez                        Colorado Springs, CO Chris Hillyer                                 Colorado Springs, CO Manuel Castro                             Colorado Springs, CO David Lopez                                Colorado Springs, CO Mario Gutierrez                           Albuquerque, NM Cupertino Heredia                      Northfield, CO Edilzar Lopez                               Littleton, CO Ramiro Lopez                              Littleton, CO Jose Medrano                             Albuquerque, NM Willie Ressler                               Monument, CO Gustavo Teodocio Alejo              Monument, CO Auder Revolorio                          Longmont, CO Jeremy Thomas                           Farmington, NM Arturo Veloz                                Sheridan, CO Adan Villar Camano                    Sheridan, CO Antonio Villalva                           Parker, CO Nathan Garness                           Rapid City, SD Drew Pearson                              Rapid City, SD Mauricio Gomez-Caicedo           Aurora, CO Carlos Gonzalez                          Ft.
