CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) -- Do you have any antique treasures laying around? The Chesterfield Historical Society of Virginia and the Bon Air Historical Society are holding the 2024 Antiques Evaluation in October where attendees can get verbal appraisals. The 2024 Antiques Evaluation will be held from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 12 at the Chesterfield County Fairgrounds' Exhibit Hall, located at 10300 Courthouse Road. The event will be held rain or shine. Attendees can have their treasures verbally appraised on site. The fee is $15 for your first item and $5 for each additional item, according to organizers. Fees support both historical societies. Organizers said professional appraisers in furniture, decorative arts, toys, cast iron and die cast, Civil War and antique militaria, magazines, maps, sheet music, rocks, minerals and geodes and other areas will be onsite to verbally appraise attendees' items. Appraisers will look over your items, give a verbal appraisal, and if you bring in a valuable item, that appraiser can make an appointment with you for another time for an in-depth written appraisal.
