INDIANAPOLIS – Police arrested a man on a criminal recklessness charge after responding to a shots fired call on Sunday.
A North District officer was patrolling the area near Meadows Way and Meadows Lane when he heard gunfire around 12:30 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 29. He searched the area and located multiple men around a vehicle.
When other officers arrived, they conducted a traffic stop. Two men were inside the vehicle.

The driver had a suspended license, police said, and a rifle was next to the passenger. Investigators discovered .22 shell casings in the area where the vehicle was initially observed.
Officers believe the passenger, 22-year-old Yane Lambert, fired the shots from what IMPD described as an “AR-style .22 long rifle.”
Officers seized the weapon and collected evidence from the scene. The vehicle was later towed.
Police arrested Lambert on a charge of criminal recklessness with a deadly weapon. The Marion County Prosecutor’s Office will make the final charging decision.
