A driver was killed and two others were injured in a crash early Tuesday on the South Side. Around 2 a.m., a man was driving a black Lexus sedan north in the 3500 block of South Ashland Avenue when he ran a red light and was hit by a Kia SUV, Chicago police said. The driver of the Lexus was ejected from the vehicle, which then plowed into a building, police said. The unidentified motorist was dead at the scene, officials said. A passenger in the Lexus was taken to Stroger Hospital with a leg injury, police said. The driver of the Kia was taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center with a hand injury.
