FRESNO, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) - While many showrooms and exhibits have been at the Fresno Fair for years, Special Event Coordinator Taylor Collins and her team are excited about the grand opening of the new Aqua Pals Exhibit. Some new faces will also be making their first visit to the fair's 12-day concert series like country singer Walker Hayes who will play his hit song Fancy Like on opening night Wednesday. The 48 hours before the opening ceremony of the Big Fresno Fair will be all work and no play for workers, vendors and staff. “So right now we have our food vendors coming in everyone is trying to stay cool out here and we also have animals coming in we have our livestock, our poultry show,” said Collins. Several hundred of the few thousand animals have begun to arrive. While many plans for the fair were made months in advance, organizers are now having to adjust to find ways to help keep visitors cool with possible record heat in the forecast. “We make sure we have porta cools available in select spaces in our Yosemite Station we have misters, and you can also bring in sealed water bottles before you come to the fair to make sure you remain hydrated, "said Collins.
