(COLORADO SPRINGS) — Several local Whataburger employees got a big surprise on Monday afternoon, Sept. 30, as they received prizes from Whataburger executives for placing at the top of a corporate competition among the restaurant's U.S. locations. According to a press release from Whataburger, the "WhataGames" have been a tradition within the company for over three decades. During the competition this year, teams across 16 states and more than 1,050 locations competed to be recognized for excellence in executing Whataburger’s core service standards, like food presentation, cleanliness, and guest satisfaction. On Monday, Whataburger President and CEO Ed Nelson was on hand with other executives to present the location at 706 E. Fillmore St. the title of 5-Star Champion, and to award employees with significant cash prizes.
