FREDERICK COUNTY, Md. (DC News Now) -- The Frederick County Sheriff's Office (FCSO) announced Monday that a man was arrested for fatally shooting a man and a woman in New Market last month. On Saturday, the FBI and Fort Lauderdale Police arrested 33-year-old David Philip Turner, of Miami, Fla., and charged him with two counts of first-degree murder, just over a month after Crimea Malita Baker and Sean Antoine Lange were shot and killed. The FCSO found their bodies at about 7 a.m. on Aug. 25, at a residence in the 7000 block of Mandalong Ct. They had been shot multiple times in an upstairs bedroom. 2 found fatally shot in Frederick County home identified Investigators believe they were shot at about 1:25 a.m., while Baker's four children were also inside the home. Fortunately, they were not hurt. Detectives said Baker and Lange were living together at the time. He was the father of one of the four children. “Sheriff’s Office detectives have worked tirelessly, seven days a week for over a month with the help of multiple law enforcement agencies to identify the person responsible for these shocking murders," Sheriff Chuck Jenkins said in a news release. "This investigation has been a priority of this office since the morning of the shootings. In anxiously waiting for closure and the arrest of the person responsible, the public has been extremely patient and can now be completely confident that this was a targeted domestic-related murder." In addition to first-degree murder, Turner was charged with Home Invasion and two counts of use of a firearm in a crime of violence or felony. He's being held at the Broward County Sheriff's Office Jail in Florida, awaiting extradition back to Maryland. "I extend my thanks to the Lake Linganore Community for their assistance in the investigation and their patience while we worked to apprehend the murderer. The Sheriff’s Office will continue to ensure the safety of Frederick County,” Jenkins continued.
