ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) – $200,000 is heading to the Gates Fire District to help build a new facility for training.
In this new building there will be a candidate physical ability test also known as C-PAT – a required test that measures a person's ability to handle physical demands of being a firefighter.
Funding was secured by Senator Jeremy Cooney. The fire district tells News 8 that they currently do not have a facility like this locally. They say right now, Gates has to send trainees out of town to Schuyler County for these tests.
