FRESNO, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) - Three single men and three single women will have a chance to find what might be their true love at a new type of event in Fresno. Organizers of The Valley Date Show Game Night say it will be a dating show themed to capture the charm of shows like Love Island and The Bachelor - all taking place inside Hummus Republic. Event Organizer Jazzmine Young says this is the first game night of its kind for Fresno and she's excited at the opportunity to help people find love and take a step outside their comfort zone. "Post-pandemic, getting that engaging interaction with somebody kind of was hard to do and come back to," Young said. "So instead of maybe doing that one-on-one date, [why not] make it a game instead?" Young says the game night will feature six single men and women, nominated by themselves or by their friends, who will participate in activities and share stories, to hopefully be set up with their perfect partner. "I love that it's fun to nominate somebody for these activities," Young said. "That's what I'm hoping that friends will want to nominate their single friends or singles will want to nominate themselves." According to Young, the only qualifications for being nominated for this particular game night are being single, being 25 to 30 years old, and straight. The game night is not exclusively for singles either, Young says couples as well as anyone else who would just want to watch can purchase an audience ticket for $15. The event will go from 7:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Hummus Republic at 7835 N Palm Avenue.
