The Park City Police Department in late September received at least two reports about possible homelessness.The police at 2:39 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 26, were called to Main Street, where someone was seen who may have been homeless. The person was “begging for cash,” the police were told. The person who contacted the police first called City Hall code enforcers and was referred to the police. The Police Department described the circumstances as suspicious.Earlier that day, at 9:48 a.m., a suspected homeless camp was reportedly found on a trail close to Poison Creek off Deer Valley Drive. The police were told the case may have involved unspecified hazardous materials.The Police Department occasionally receives reports of possible homelessness.Other incidents reported to the Police Department recently included:On Sunday, Sept. 29, at 4:25 p.m., an officer “contacted” drivers who were traveling at speeds up to 10 mph faster than the 20 mph speed limit on Aerie Drive. The officer “encouraged them to slow down,” according to public police logs.Someone contacted the police at 2:44 p.m. reporting their vehicle was hit while it was left in a lot in the area of Swede Alley and 5th Street. The damage occurred the day before the police were contacted. Public police logs did not provide details about the damage.On Saturday, Sept. 28, at 5:56 p.m., the police were told someone left a pickup truck and a horse trailer somewhere along Park Avenue. The person who contacted the agency indicated the truck and trailer took up seven parking spots. Police logs did not provide details about any enforcement action.The police at 3:48 p.m. received a report of sun glasses disappearing from a counter somewhere along Park Avenue. The police were told “someone took” the sunglasses. The department logged the case as a suspected theft.The Police Department at 1:13 p.m. received information about what was described by the authorities as a parking problem on Empire Avenue. The police were  told cars needed “to be towed” and someone was unable to drive out of the location. It was not clear from public police logs whether the case involved public or private property.The police at 10:59 a.m. were told of a suspected theft of an e-bike in the Iron Horse area. The e-bike apparently has black coloring and a brown seat.Two duffle bags were reportedly found in the area of Meadows Drive and Lucky John Drive at 9:18 a.m. They on the roadside, the police were told. Public police logs did not provide details about their contents.A police officer at 1:34 a.m. pulled over a driver who was reported to be traveling in the wrong direction at or close to the intersection of Deer Valley Drive and Bonanza Drive. Public police logs did not provide details about the direction or which road the driver was taking when the traffic stop was initiated. The logs also did not provide details about whether the driver received a warning or a citation.On Friday, Sept. 27, at 10:41 p.m., an officer pulled over a driver in the area of Thaynes Canyon Drive and Payday Drive for suspected speeding. The police said the vehicle was traveling at 35 mph in a location where the posted speed limit is 20 mph. Public police logs did not provide details about any enforcement action.The police at 8 p.m. received a complaint from someone on Lucky John Drive indicating people headed to a football game left vehicles in or close to a driveway.A police officer at 3 p.m. assisted two people as they attempted to get back into a rented vehicle. They were in the area of Guardsman Pass and the rental company “was able to remotely open the vehicle for them,” public police logs indicated.A vehicle was reported to have been left at a bus stop along Park Avenue at 12:16 p.m. The vehicle had apparently been at the location since 8 a.m.A deer carcass was seen in a travel lane at or close to the intersection of S.R. 224 and Meadows Drive at 12:22 a.m. The carcass was removed.On Thursday, Sept. 26, at 5:55 p.m., water was reported to be “coming out of the main water meter” somewhere along Holiday Ranch Loop Road. The police said the water was the result of a utility issue.The police received a report from someone on Thaynes Canyon Drive about youngsters riding e-bikes on the road at, according to the person who contacted the agency 40 mph. The police said the riders created a traffic hazard.A deer carcass was reported in the median on Deer Valley Drive at 3:41 p.m. The carcass created a traffic hazard at the Aerie Drive intersection, the police were told.On Wednesday, Sept. 25, at 12:36 p.m., someone on Main Street contacted the police indicating the vehicle they were driving “stopped working” and the person’s “foot is on the brake.” The person was unable to open the doors, the police were told. The vehicle was “in the middle of the road,” public police logs indicated. The police said the vehicle created a traffic hazard.A suspected drunken driving case was reported at 1:40 a.m. in the area of the intersection of Deer Valley Drive and Bonanza Drive. Public police logs did not provide details.On Tuesday, Sept. 24, at 10:15 a.m., a crane was reported to be blocking the road in the area of the intersection of Main Street and Heber Avenue. City Hall code enforcers indicated a road closure had been approved.On Monday, Sept. 23, at 8:03 p.m., a young deer was seen “wandering around in the middle of” Park Avenue.A hit-and-run accident was reported at 1:30 p.m. on Silver Star Court.
