NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — A New Orleans high school teacher accused of sex trafficking a 16-year-old girl has been indicted.
According to U.S. Attorney Duane Evans, 36-year-old Aaron Terod Johnson was indicted on charges of sex trafficking of a minor, coercion and enticement of a minor to engage in prostitution and transportation of a minor to engage in sexual activity on Thursday, Sept. 26.

Court documents state that in March 2024, Johnson allegedly drove to Vicksburg, Mississippi to pick up a 16-year-old girl and brought her back to his New Orleans apartment to have sex with her for money after exchanging messages on Facebook.
Court documents allege that an Apple Cash account connected to Johnson sent $200 to the victim.

The U.S. Attorney's office reported that Johnson was a teacher in New Orleans.
According to Evans, Johnson faces a minimum of 10 years in prison up to life and an up to $250,000 fine if he is convicted. He also faces five years to life of supervised release. Johnson will also be required to register as a sex offender and participate in the notification program if convicted.
