Octavious Oxendine and Alex Raynor earn SEC Player of the Week honors

LEXINGTON, KY. (ABC 36 NEWS NOW) – The celebrations continued on Monday after the cats earned their highest AP ranked road victory on an SEC campus on Saturday; taking down #6 Ole Miss 20-17.
On Monday, Octavious Oxendine was named the SEC Defensive Lineman of the Week and Alex Raynor was named the SEC Special Teams player of the week.
Oxendine had a career-high two sacks versus the rebels, giving him 7.5 total career sacks. The Rebels entered the game as the top-ranked scoring offense, passing offense and total offense in FBS. With the help of Oxendine, the rebels were held 38 points below their season average.
Raynor hit two field goals on Saturday, including a 48-yarder. He now has made 14 consecutive field goal attempts, extending his school record. He also owns the UK school record for field goal percentage at .955 (21-of-22). On top of that, Raynor was a perfect 6-6 against Kentucky’s two top-10 opponents this season.
