A large police presence on Green Bay's west side led to a temporary "secure the building" lockdown for an elementary school two blocks away, Green Bay Police said Monday.Green Bay Police assisted the Brown County Sheriff's Office with the arrest of a suspect wanted on unspecified criminal charges on the 1900 block of 9th Street. Police say two people were taken into custody.Due to the incident, Kennedy Elementary School, located at 1754 9th Street, was temporarily in a "secure the building" lockdown for what the Green Bay Public School District described as an "outside situation." Classes continued as normal, all students were safe, and the lockdown was lifted when the arrests were made, according to both GBAPS and the Green Bay Police._______UPDATE: The Green Bay Public School District said the "secure the building" at Kennedy Elementary was lifted. _______Kennedy Elementary on Green Bay's west side is currently locked down due to what the Green Bay Public School District called a "community concern."The District made that announcement on its Facebook page Monday afternoon. The post says the school is in a secure the building - outside situation mode.The post said the district will notify families when the situation has been resolved and the "secure the building" has been lifted.
