AUSTIN (KXAN) -- We end September like we've spent most of the month, hot and rain-free. In fact, this September will go down as the 11th driest September in Austin area history with only 0.37" at Camp Mabry since the beginning of the month. Remember, September is usually one of our wettest months, not our driest. October begins like September ends We'll start October with more of the same, with 90s during the day and 60s at night. Our hottest day of the week should end up being tomorrow with highs in the mid to upper 90s before temperatures slowly come down into the middle and lower 90s by this weekend. Highs in Austin the next few days ACL Weekend One looks largely very warm and dry. Our only chance of rain comes on Saturday as a disturbance in the Gulf could provide a couple of stray showers, but the highest chances for rain should be in our eastern counties. ACL Weekend One As the temperatures come down, the humidity slowly comes up. Consistent dew points in the 50s will be replaced by a little mugginess in the air. Muggy meter this week Checking the Tropics KXAN.com Search "Red Cross Helene" As recovery efforts continue from Hurricane Helene, we're watching several named storms in the Atlantic.
