ST. MARY'S COUNTY, Md. (DC News Now) -- The St. Mary's County Sheriff's Office (SMCSO) is investigating after a kitten was found dead alongside the road in Morganza over the weekend. According to the sheriff's office, on Saturday, Sept. 28, just after 8 a.m., deputies responded to an animal cruelty complaint at the intersection of northbound Route 5 and Route 242. The caller told authorities they saw someone in a silver SUV throwing about eight to nine kittens from the car. Police arrest 14-year-old after shooting in Northeast DC Once on the scene, responding deputies found one kitten dead. They were unable to find the other kittens.
