ST. MARY'S COUNTY, Md. (DC News Now) -- The St. Mary's County Sheriff's Office (SMCSO) is investigating after a kitten was found dead alongside the road in Morganza over the weekend. According to the sheriff's office, on Saturday, Sept. 28, just after 8 a.m., deputies responded to an animal cruelty complaint at the intersection of northbound Route 5 and Route 242. The caller told authorities they saw someone in a silver SUV throwing about eight to nine kittens from the car. Police arrest 14-year-old after shooting in Northeast DC Once on the scene, responding deputies found one kitten dead. They were unable to find the other kittens. The SMCSO is asking anyone who may have been traveling along Route 5 and may have witnessed the incident to call deputy Hill at 301-475-4200, ext. 8078, or email [email protected].
