WICHITA, Kan. (KSNW) - A train hit two pedestrians on Sunday evening in Liberal. It happened just after 8 p.m. at the Western Avenue crossing, north of U.S. Highway 54 or Pancake Boulevard. The Kansas Highway Patrol said a pedestrian was pushing another person in a wheelchair. Both crossed the tracks while the crossing arms were down, and the signal lights were active. Both were hit by the train. 1 killed in crash northwest of Wichita The KHP said the accident resulted in a fatality but didn't specify who was killed. The names or identities of the victims haven't been released.
