KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- One person is dead and two others are in the hospital after a deadly crash in Independence Sunday night. According to the Independence Police Department, the crash happened around 10:45 p.m. on Salisbury Road east of 291- Highway. Lee’s Summit ‘attempted homicide’ suspect caught after chase with 4 agencies Police said a Nissan pulled onto Salisbury from Downey Avenue, into the path of a Kia going east on Salisbury. The driver of the Nissan was pronounced dead at the scene, according to police. A passenger in the Nissan, as well as the driver of the Kia, were taken to the hospital with serious injuries. Police did not identify anyone involved in the crash, however, investigations are still ongoing.
