Marinette County man dies in ATV crash, alcohol and speed appear to be factors

AMBERG, Wis. (WFRV) - Authorities in Marinette County say one man is dead following an ATV crash Sunday morning in which alcohol and speed are believed to be factors.
According to a release from the Marinette County Sheriff's Office, deputies responded at 8:42 a.m. for reports of a single-vehicle crash on Old 38 Road just north of Dow Dam Road in Amberg.

Officials say that one man was heading south on an ATV on Old 38 Road when he was unable to make a turn around a curve and crashed into a ditch where he then hit several trees.
The driver of the ATV, 31-year-old Devin R. Cotter Nutt from Amberg, was not wearing a helmet and was pronounced dead at the scene by the Marinette County Medical Examiner's Office.
Deputies say that while an investigation into the incident is ongoing, alcohol and speed are each believed to be a part of the cause of the crash.
