The Geauga Park District announced that free horse-drawn wagon rides through the woods of Swine Creek Reservation promise enjoyment of the sights, sounds and scents of autumn during three Sundays this coming month — Oct. 6, 13 and 20, all from 1 to 5 p.m. Guests are advised to head toward the sugar house for first-come, first-served boarding, according to a news release. Those interested should note note that seating is limited by the size of the wagon, pets are not permitted to ride, and each outing lasts about 20 minutes, with the final rides stepping off about 4:30 p.m. Swine Creek Reservation is located at 16004 Hayes Road in Middlefield Township. Because inclement weather cancels this experience, people should call 440-286-9516 between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. to check their status if the day is rainy, the release stated. There will also be special rides just for those affiliated with the developmental disability community on Oct. 18. Learn more and check availability on the park district’s website, www.geaugaparkdistrict.org, under “Programs & Events,” then the date on the calendar.
