WASHINGTON (DC News Now) -- The Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) has released the name of the man who was shot and killed near Nationals Park just minutes after the first pitch on Friday. Police identified the man as 28-year-old Marc Butler Jr., of no fixed address. 1 dead, 3 injured after shooting in Southeast DC On Sept. 27, just before 6:45 p.m., D.C. police officers were called to the 1300 block of South Capitol Street, Southwest after gunshots were heard in the area. MPD said as officers canvassed the area, Butler Jr., who had been shot, flagged them down. He was taken to the hospital where he later died. Anyone with information is asked to call MPD (202) 727-9099 or text the department’s tip line at 50411. Tips can remain anonymous.
