LEXINGTON, Ky. (ABC 36 NEWS NOW) – Happy Monday! Be alert for some patch dense fog as you head out the door this morning, particularly in the river valleys. We are still dealing with some indirect impacts from Helene as the remnants of the system sit over the area. This will bring us isolated-t0-widely scattered showers once again today. Similar to Sunday, these showers will be off and on and won’t amount to much outside of a few brief downpours. Pack the rain gear just in case! Be alert for some patchy dense fog developing once again tonight. It won’t be widespread, but there will be some areas of low visibility. Tuesday will feature a few more showers, but there will be changes on the way Tuesday night into Wednesday. A cold front is set to sweep through the region. This cold front will finally clear the remnants of Helene out of the area and usher in some really nice conditions to end the week. As the front passes Tuesday night into Wednesday, there will be a few showers and maybe a storm or two along the front. Overall, there isn’t a ton of moisture with this front. This front also doesn’t significantly drop our temperatures. Wednesday afternoon highs will be ranging from the upper 60s to the low 70s, while Wednesday night is expected to be the coldest night of the week with temperatures falling into the upper 40s and low 50s. Thursday is our “Go Day” of the week! After a seasonably cool start to the day, temperatures will be climbing into the mid-to-upper 80s. This will lead to a warm and dry end to the week. Afternoon highs on Friday will peak in the upper 70s, near 80 in spots. The weekend forecast should remain mainly dry, though there is a small chance another cold front moves through the area. Right now we are leaning towards a mainly dry weekend with temperatures in the mid-70s. Stay with the ABC 36 Storm Team for more updates.  ABC 36 HOUR FORECAST MONDAY: Mostly cloudy with off & on showers. Highs in the low-to-mid 70s. MONDAY NIGHT: Partly cloudy with patchy dense fog.
