INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — A heavily-traveled road is closed on Indy’s northwest side after police found a person deceased at an intersection early Monday morning.
Just after 6 a.m., Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department officers responded to a report of a person down at Gateway Drive and North High School Road. That’s outside a shopping center just north of 38th Street, east of I-465.
Officers arrived and found a person unresponsive. The person did not survive.
“At this time, this is believed to be a person struck. The IMPD fatal crash investigation team will investigate,” IMPD Public Affairs Officer Tommy Thompson said in a release.
North High School Road will be shut down from Gateway Drive to Commons Drive throughout the investigation. Police did not say when the road will reopen.
